The Serpa Solar Power Plant consist of a ground-mounted photovoltaic system that utilizes silicon solar cell technology to convert sunlight directly into electricity. The 11 megawatt project uses the SunPower Tracker System, wich follows the sun throughout the day and generates more electricity than conventional fixed-mount systems.



Covering a total of 60 hectares and using 52 000 solar panels, the Serpa Solar Power Plant is one of the largest photovoltaic projects in the world. Interconnection to the electrical grid is made at the site with the regional utility.
